The 2009 NFL season has already been very exciting, and as week 5 approaches, there are a number of great games on the schedule and a couple of good divisional matches.

The NFL picks for week 5 include a couple of easy games, but not all of the week 5 NFL picks are going to be easy ones. There are a couple of divisional games on the NFL docket that could prove to be troublesome for anyone trying to predict the matches. In addition to that, there are a couple of dream games for fantasy football players looking to rack up the points in week five of the NFL schedule.

Week 5 NFL Picks and Predictions

Cincinnati vs. Baltimore

This is an important game for both division rivals, with the Bengals trying to prove they are an elite team, and the Ravens trying to show last week’s loss was a fluke. It’s going to be a very interesting game in Baltimore, but the offense of Cincinnati could prove to be too much this week.

Cleveland vs. Buffalo

Cleveland has just been horrible this year, and that doesn’t give them much hope against a Buffalo team trying to be contenders. Look for Buffalo to win by two touchdowns.

Washington vs. Carolina

Fans of these two teams cannot be happy with the performances so far, and Sunday is going to provide an ugly game. Look for Washington and their superior talent to finally show it on the field and beat Carolina.

Pittsburgh vs. Detroit

Detroit could really be in trouble with a hurt starting quarterback, and if he tries to play, look for the Pittsburgh defense to blitz often. This should be a great day for Big Ben and the Steelers to rack up the points.

Dallas vs. Kansas City

Tony Romo finally gets an easy game, and he can right the Cowboys’ ship on Sunday if they can come out strong and not give the Chiefs any breathing room. Dallas should win this one easily.

Oakland vs. New York Giants

The Giants have a number of worries about Eli Manning, but have enough talent to win this game even if Manning isn’t able to finish it. Oakland is just not a good team, even though it seemed like they had the parts. The Giants should win this one easily.

Tampa Bay vs. Philadelphia

McNabb is coming back and that is exactly what the Eagles needed. This should be a walk in the park against the under-performing Bucs.

Minnesota vs. St. Louis

Many would call St. Louis the worst team in the NFL right now, and they could be facing the best team with the Vikings. All fantasy football players should make sure to start any Minnesota player, because this one is going to get ugly.

Atlanta vs. San Francisco

A good match-up on paper, it will be interesting to see if the 49ers can come out strong against a decent opponent. They should do just that and beat Atlanta at home on Sunday.

Houston vs. Arizona

Arizona is still struggling to find a rhythm after their Super Bowl appearance, and Houston is a tough team to play right now. This should turn out to be the breakout game for the Cardinals this season, and get them back on track. Look for Arizona to win by two or more touchdowns.

New England vs. Denver

This could be considered the game of the week as Tom Brady faces the impressive Denver defense. This game is a toss up, and if Denver can pull it out, they may need to be considered one of the two best teams in the NFL. The thought though, is that Brady should find a way to win this one.

Jacksonville vs. Seattle

Both teams have been disappointing for their fans, but it’s hard to think that Seattle could lose another game in front of their home crowd. Look for Jacksonville to put up a great fight, but for Seattle to pull it out in the end.

Indianapolis vs. Tennessee

Tennessee has started out 0-4, and just doesn’t seem to have the till to win. On the other hand, Indianapolis is 4-0, and Peyton Manning will look to push his Colts to 5-0. He should be able to do just that with very little effort on the Sunday night game.

New York Jets vs. Miami

Monday night’s game might be interesting on paper, but the Jets are getting so much better that it would be hard to beat them even if Miami was completely healthy. This should be a good game for Sanchez at quarterback in his Monday Night Football debut.
