If you've ever thought about following your team on the road, you know that you must plan ahead. Below are tips on how you can make your trip cheap and easy!
The one thing more fun than rooting for your favourite team at home games is rooting for them on the road. Often you can tune in to a game and find a sea of terrible towels even though the game is in San Diego. Fans of the Steelers, Bills and Raiders are noted for traveling to road games. Fans of the Steelers, Bills and Raiders are noted for being exceptional travelers. Here are some tips to make your road trip a success. Hertz Enterprise Rental Car and ExpediaSometimes the easiest—and most fun—road games to travel to are the divisional games, partly due to the close proximity plus the potential rivalry between teams. If you don’t drive, one option is to rent a car, which will also allow you to tailgate. More visible rental car franchises include Hertz and Enterprise Rental Car. This also applies if you are flying in for a game. Sometimes motels are cheaper to stay in, and are preferable if your team plays in the city’s suburbs (like the Bills, Cowboys, Patriots, Redskins etc), but depending on your situation, you might need to consider staying in a city hotel. Teams like the Eagles, Colts and Falcon’s have their facility located in the city proper, which would essentially require a traveler to stay in the city. Check sites like Expedia for potential hotel deals or travel packages that your airline might offer. If you have AAA, make use of potential discounts. Every saved dollar adds up. Southwest Airlines JetBlue Continental and DeltaIf you’re flying, your best bet would be to travel on a discount airline. In the United States, popular discount airlines include JetBlue, Southwest and AirTran. If you prefer an airline to be more upscale, you might consider airlines like Delta, Continental or US Airways. Check with your airline for potential deals, particularly as it pertains to hotels and rental cars. Also, if you are a season ticket holder, you might consider checking with ticket agents to find out if your team is offering any travel deals or discounts. This would be particularly useful if you are traveling for a playoff game. NFL Safety TipsFootball is a passionate game and fans in many cities often put their team on a pedestal. Therefore, it can sometimes be dangerous to arrive at a stadium wearing the opposing team’s jerseys and other apparel. For your own safety, use caution and remember to be respectful to the home team’s fans. Forewarned is forearmed.
