Got a jumpstart this week on my Week 12 NFL picks, considering (as predicted) Dallas, Green Bay and Indianapolis all rolled to victories on Thanksgiving. Now, for the rest of the week’s pro football action…
First, the easy picks…the Patriots should continue their dominance with a relatively easy win over the Eagles, especially since it’s expected Donovan McNabb will be sitting out the contest. In spite of their foibles Pittsburgh will handily take down the hapless Dolphins. And Tennessee shouldn’t have much trouble with the troubled Bengals.
In Chicago, the Denver Broncos face the Bears, a team that hasn’t gotten on track all season, and the Broncos should handle them with relative ease. Quarterback Jay Cutler should be in form for Denver. Also expect the Giants to drop Minnesota, whether or not rookie running back Adrian Peterson is available to the Vikings.
Cleveland should prevail over Houston behind QB Derek Anderson, running back Jamal Lewis and premiere kick returner Josh Cribbs, while Tampa Bay should eke out a win over the Redskins. In a battle of 4-6 underachievers, take New Orleans over Carolina, which must again rely upon the ancient Vinny Testaverde to man the helm.
San Diego should again right its ship with a home win over Baltimore, and the 6-4 Seattle Seahawks should win out over 2-8 St. Louis. The Bills should rebound nicely from their dismantling at the hands of New England, and will spank Jacksonville, and the Chiefs will hand Oakland the Raiders’ their ninth loss of the year in spite of the loss of Larry Johnson and Priest Holmes. Lastly, Arizona should defeat San Francisco, especially since 49er back up QB Trent Dilfer will get the start and feature back Frank Gore is injured.
