Week 13 of National Football League action again gets an early start this week with a lone contest tonight. Green Bay travels to Dallas in a face off of 10-1 teams, the Packers against the Cowboys. Expect the Cowboys to eke out a narrow victory over the visitors.
In other action Sunday, the 9-2 Colts visit Jacksonville to meet the 8-3 Jaguars. The Colts – behind quarterback Peyton Manning and running back Joseph Addai – should have the oomph to edge the Jags. San Diego should run roughshod over the woeful Chiefs in Kansas City in spite of their 1-4 road record.
Coming off their third straight loss, expect the Lions to fold against Minnesota, although feature back Adrian Peterson will see limited action coming off an injury. And New England should right its ship versus Baltimore to make up for its near miss against the Eagles, jacking the Pats’ record to 12-0. The Redskins – in the wake of the tragic murder of safety Sean Taylor – will wreak havoc upon Buffalo.
One toss-up this week is Houston facing Tennessee, as both squads have played terribly. But Tennessee should employ enough defensive gas to blow past the Texans. Behind Cleveland running back Jamal Lewis the Browns should handle the Cardinals in Arizona. Another game of near bottom feeders will see the Giants (7-4) opposing the 5-6 Bears in Chicago. Despite the disappointing play of both quarterbacks, New York should have the juice to win this one. Philly will likewise right its ship.
Tampa Bay should defeat the Saints in New Orleans; while the 8-3 Steelers will easily dispose of Cincinnati. Carolina will beat San Francisco at home, and the Falcons (3-8) will be victorious over the St. Louis Rams.
