Week 14 action in the NFL begins tonight with Washington facing Chicago and, in despite the Redskins’ short week and their devastating loss to Buffalo last Sunday, expect the ‘Skins to eke out a narrow victory over the Bears.
Now, on to the “gimmes” … Buffalo will roll over the winless Dolphins, while Dallas should have no trouble at all with the reeling Lions. Green Bay should thrash Oakland, and the Vikings should throttle the hapless 49ers. The Browns will defeat the New York Jets and New Orleans will avenge last week’s loss to Tampa Bay by drubbing the poorly coached Falcons.
In contests that are more parity-based, expect the Giants to beat Philadelphia despite the return of quarterback Donovan McNabb. San Diego should be able to ride the ample back of LaDainian Tomlinson and defeat Tennessee, a team that has been victimized by its on-and-off quarterback, Vince Young.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will easily handle the 5-7 Carolina Panthers, and Tampa Bay should add to the Texans’ woes. Cincinnati should right its ship and beat the 3-9 St. Louis Rams behind the passing combination of Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson.
The 8-4 Seahawks will prevail over the Cardinals behind QB Matt Hasselbeck. Denver should up its record to 6-7 by beating the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Indianapolis Colts will defeat the Baltimore Ravens, as the Ravens must be completely deflated after their last minute loss last week to the New England Patriots.
And, speaking of the Patriots, New England faces perhaps its biggest test of the season in facing the Pittsburgh Steelers at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Ma. The Patriots are attempting to preserve their unbeaten season against a team that broke their 21-game winning streak several seasons back. The Pats should win. Check here!
