LJ or LT? This question will be around for quite sometime in water cooler chit chat and fantasy football discussions. These two running backs are a coach's dream. Almost a guaranteed red zone appearance and a one hundred yards rushing in every game, a threat with each carry and reception. Ladainian Tomlinson and Larry Johnson are destroying rush defenses, torching teams with rushing averages of 102 yards on the ground for LJ and 103.4 rushing yards per game for LT.
A running game is not the only asset the Chiefs and Chargers have with these Pro Bowl backs - they can also be a pretty good receivers when it comes down to it. Both Johnson and Tomlinson has plenty of receiving touchdowns in the careers. LT with ten and LJ with five.
In my opinion, Tomlinson takes the trophy in this battle of the best running back. LT is a triple threat with rushing, receiving and even passing touchdowns! How do you defend a guy that can hurt with all these offensive threats? The answer is you can't! Number 21 has a unheard of five passing touchdowns( three last season) in his career. Sorry, but LJ has to come in second in this contest.
